Building a National Brand

Mountain Home Medical was started in 2002 as an independent distributor of medical alerts, with a mission to keep people safe in their own homes as long as possible. With an extensive background in hospital purchasing and home health care, Mountain Home Medical had become the leading provider of innovative medical alarm tools and medication management technology in Colorado.

In response to the growing medical alarm market, Mountain Home Medical created the SmartLink brand of medical alerts and prepared for a national product launch. K2 Brand was chosen to develop the brand strategy, messaging strategy and logo for the new SmartLink line of products. 

The challenge was to create a compelling and differentiating design that would clearly and quickly communicate the brand and its benefits. The central idea behind the brand strategy and logo design reflected the key brand idea of The Smart Way to Live Independently.

The Smart Way to Live Independently.

The K2 Brand design team created custom lettering for the SmartLink wordmark and added the radiating waves to convey the brand attributes of speed, connection and reliability. The focus on knowledge and expertise was clearly reflected in the overall design, which served as the foundation for a successful nationwide launch.
